Sunderland have already made their long-term intentions clear for Matty Young amid reported interest from Liverpool

Sunderland sporting director Florent Ghisolfi has established a clear long-term development pathway for Matty Young amid reported transfer interest from Liverpool. Journalist Alan Nixon reported that Liverpool are monitoring the 19-year-old goalkeeper during his loan spell at Huddersfield Town, viewing him as a potential future number one.
Sunderland secured their stance in May when Young signed a new contract running until 2030. The Black Cats arranged his season-long loan move to Huddersfield in League One following previous spells with Salford City, intending to prepare him for their senior squad.
