The Pittsburgh Pirates are sitting at home for the playoffs, but their 82-80 record from the season suggests that they are close to playing in October. It might only take one or two more moves to get there in 2027…

Bleacher Report contributor Kerry Miller suggests the Pittsburgh Pirates should acquire relief pitcher Trevor Megill via a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers. Under the proposed trade proposal, Pittsburgh would send Double-A catcher Easton Carmichael and outfielder Lonnie White Jr. to their National League Central rivals in exchange for the veteran closer.
The Pirates finished the 2026 season with an 82-80 record, narrowly missing postseason contention. Megill posted a 2.63 ERA during the 2026 campaign and compiled 81 saves across his last three seasons in Milwaukee, potentially upgrading Pittsburgh's bullpen alongside Mason Montgomery and Gregory Soto.
