Canada head coach Jesse Marsch stated that the rivalry between Canada and the United States is better than ever ahead of their Tuesday friendly. Speaking to reporters, Marsch emphasized that his players need no reminders about the intensity of facing the Americans, noting that Canada has grown into a competitive side capable of challenging for regional supremacy in Concacaf.
Marsch, an American raised in Wisconsin, addressed his past links to the US job, insisting he holds no grudge while remaining proud to coach Canada. Canadian players Dayne St. Clair and Tani Oluwaseyi also echoed the importance of the matchup, noting that regularly beating top regional teams is necessary to gain full respect.
