Sam Reinhart is stepping back into the center ice position for the Florida Panthers. Coach Paul Maurice has emphasized patience with Reinhart's adaptation, while the 30-year-old is looking forward to the switch.

Florida Panthers forward Sam Reinhart has moved to the center position to help replace team captain Aleksander Barkov, who is sidelined with a major leg injury. In his return to center ice, Reinhart logged 22:19 of ice time alongside linemates Brady Tkachuk and Brad Marchand, registering three shots on goal.
While Reinhart admitted playing center provides a different perspective on the ice, head coach Paul Maurice is taking a patient approach as he adjusts. Despite enduring struggles in the faceoff circle, Reinhart posted strong underlying possession metrics and brings dependable defensive playmaking to the role.
