The Story in 60 Seconds

Los Angeles Clippers wing Max Strus suffered a partial tear of the plantar fascia in his right foot during his preseason debut against the Golden State Warriors in Honolulu. The non-contact injury occurred just five minutes into the game after he pulled up following a cut across the court. Head coach Tyronn Lue called a timeout, and Strus immediately headed to the locker room. Reports confirm that he will be re-evaluated in four weeks.

This marks the third consecutive season that Strus will miss the start of the year due to lower extremity injuries, having dealt with an ankle sprain in 2024 and a foot fracture in 2025. The setback adds to a growing injury list for Los Angeles, with Brandon Ingram, Jordan Miller, Bradley Beal, and Yanic Konan Niederhauser also sidelined or working their way back ahead of the regular season.
