It took Dillon Brooks less than five minutes into tonight’s preseason game against the Detroit Pistons to pick up the new campaign right where he left off the old one.

During a preseason opener between the Phoenix Suns and Detroit Pistons, an early altercation broke out between Dillon Brooks and John Collins. Collins grabbed Brooks by the throat during a rebound battle in the first quarter, drawing viral social media reactions. Collins received a flagrant foul, while Brooks was assessed a technical foul.
The Pistons defeated the Suns 109-107, with Collins scoring 10 points and Brooks finishing with 11 points. The incident comes shortly after Brooks was formally charged in September with a Class 1 misdemeanor DUI, with his court hearing set for October 28.
