Former UFC contender Edson Barboza has signed with grappling organization ACBJJ to continue competing following his MMA retirement. The announcement comes roughly two months after the 40-year-old Brazilian stepped away from mixed martial arts after suffering his fourth consecutive loss in the Octagon at UFC 330.
Known primarily for his striking throughout 33 UFC appearances, Barboza previously tested grappling rulesets in a match against Shara Magomedov earlier this year. Barboza explained that while injuries prompted his MMA exit, financial stability allows him to pursue grappling purely for competition.
