The half-back will spend the 2027 season in the Championship.

Half-back Olly Russell has agreed to join his hometown club Oldham on a one-year loan deal from Wakefield Trinity for the 2027 Championship season. The 28-year-old spent the majority of the 2026 campaign on loan with Huddersfield Giants, where he made 17 appearances before suffering a season-ending Achilles injury.
Russell follows in the footsteps of his father, Richard Russell, who made 125 appearances for Oldham. Head coach Alan Kilshaw praised the signing of the experienced Super League half-back, who becomes the club's latest recruit ahead of the 2027 campaign alongside recent signing Reiss Butterworth.
