Former Rangers man Kris Boyd told his great ex-Hoops rival Sutton to his face on a new podcast: 'You're up there in the top two – but Hateley was the best'

Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd claimed on William Hill's podcast, The Warm-Up, that Mark Hateley is the greatest English striker to play in Scotland, placing him ahead of former Celtic rival Chris Sutton. Speaking directly to Sutton, Boyd praised Hateley's domestic success and pedigree, highlighting his six league titles at Ibrox and previous spells with Monaco and in Serie A.
Sutton agreed with high praise for Hateley, calling him a phenomenal, physical all-round center forward while noting other stars like Ian Wright and Jermaine Defoe were past their peaks in Scotland. Hateley scored 87 goals in 165 games for Rangers, while Sutton scored 63 goals in 130 games for Celtic.
