Sweden Under-21 winger Alieu Njie has revealed why he chose to join Fiorentina over Crystal Palace during the summer transfer window. The 19-year-old moved from Torino to Fiorentina on loan with an obligation to buy, despite strong and persistent interest from the Premier League club.
Crystal Palace reportedly submitted multiple bids, including offers reaching up to €13 million, but Torino rejected them. Njie explained that Palace even made a late attempt to hijack the deal while he was traveling for his medical, but he remained committed to joining Fiorentina.
