The group stage for the 2027 U21 European Championship qualifiers concluded on Tuesday, confirming 12 automatic qualifiers and leaving four spots open for next month's playoffs. Spain, Belgium, and Poland secured automatic qualification on the final day, joining Germany, Croatia, Norway, Portugal, England, France, and Italy. Meanwhile, eight nations, including Denmark, Greece, and the Republic of Ireland, advanced to the playoff stage.
Several Bundesliga-based players made key contributions across the final group matches. Bayer Leverkusen's Afonso Moreira scored his first U21 goal in Portugal's 2-0 win over Czechia, while Hertha BSC winger Oluwaseun Adewumi scored in Austria's 7-1 victory against Wales. Slovakia captain Mario Sauer scored twice in a 2-1 win over Andorra, though it was insufficient to reach the playoffs.
