The Flyers are in the initial stages of panic mode, officially.

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed veteran forward Michael Bunting to a one-year contract following a winless 0-2-2 start to the season. The Hockey News' Jonathan Bailey argues that the move represents an admission of early panic and structural flaws within the team after earning just two of eight possible points.
Bunting, 31, remained unsigned after finishing last season with two points in 13 games for Dallas. Bailey suggests Bunting's arrival could push younger wingers Denver Barkey or Alex Bump to the AHL, and may serve as a precursor to future trades or an eventual deadline flip.
