Paul Cotter has had a dream start to the season.

Vancouver Canucks head coach Manny Malhotra and forward Jake DeBrusk praised newcomer Paul Cotter after he was named the NHL's Third Star of the Week. Through his first four games with Vancouver, the 26-year-old forward scored four goals and totaled six points, tying for the league lead in goals. Cotter became the first Canucks player to earn a Three Stars of the Week nod since Quinn Hughes in November 2025.
DeBrusk commended Cotter's skill set and strong start with a new team, while Malhotra highlighted his work ethic and versatility across all game situations. Cotter signed a one-year, $2.15 million contract this off-season after leaving the New Jersey Devils and is currently scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at season's end.
