The Brooklyn Nets opened their preseason with a dominant 124-90 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night. Brooklyn fielded a starting five of Egor Dëmin, Keon Ellis, Michael Porter Jr., Julius Randle, and Day'Ron Sharpe, while the Hornets played without several projected regulars. Michael Porter Jr. led the Nets with 16 points, Randle contributed 13 points, and Charlotte's top scorer was Liam McNeely with 14 points.
Writer Lucas Kaplan highlighted Brooklyn's increased pace, strong 3-point shooting, and Randle's playmaking in transition under head coach Jordi Fernández. Most Nets starters rested in the second half, leaving Sharpe as the only starter to play after halftime. Brooklyn generated 12 steals and 25 transition points during the win, and the team will next host the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday.
