Lafrenière’s three goal takeover seals a rugged, Black and Blueshirts style victory as New York continues to buy into Mike Sullivan’s vision

Alexis Lafrenière recorded a hat trick and a four-point performance to lead the New York Rangers to a 5-2 victory over the New York Islanders on Tuesday night. The win marked New York's fourth consecutive victory, with Oliver Bjorkstrand also scoring twice for the Rangers. Bo Horvat and Cal Ritchie scored second-period goals for the Islanders, who faced Rangers rookie Cole Beaudoin making his NHL debut.
After the Islanders tied the game 2-2 in the second period, Bjorkstrand restored the Rangers' lead on a power play assisted by Gabe Perreault. Lafrenière secured his hat trick by scoring two empty-net goals in the closing minutes against Islanders goaltender Semyon Varlamov, sealing the win under head coach Mike Sullivan.
