Thunder Rookie Aday Mara Puts NBA on Notice After What He Just Did

Oklahoma City Thunder rookie center Aday Mara delivered an impressive performance in his preseason debut against the New Orleans Pelicans. Playing in Tulsa, the 7-foot-3 big man recorded 12 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and three blocks in just 18 minutes of action. Mara was flawless from the floor, shooting 5-for-5 on field goals and 2-for-2 on free throws to finish with a plus-13 rating.

Mara produced the strong showing despite Oklahoma City resting core contributors including Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren, and Jalen Williams. Facing Pelicans competition that featured Zion Williamson and rookie Derik Queen, Mara started alongside Jared McCain, Ajay Mitchell, Bennett Stirtz, and Kenrich Williams, showcasing rim protection and efficient interior play.
