The Story in 60 Seconds

Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand suffered an apparent lower-body injury during Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Kings. The incident occurred late in the second period when Marchand drove to the Kings' net and fell awkwardly, causing his left leg to buckle underneath him. The 38-year-old was unable to put weight on the leg and needed assistance from staff to leave the ice.

The game was only Marchand's second appearance of the season following offseason surgery. His setback comes immediately after Panthers head coach Paul Maurice announced that team captain Aleksander Barkov is expected to miss six to eight weeks due to a lower-body injury sustained last week.
