Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy experienced a live hot mic moment during an in-game interview with Fox Sports' Tom Verducci in Game 3 of the NLDS against the San Diego Padres. Watching Sal Frelick hit a fly ball, Murphy reacted aloud with an expletive after Padres center fielder Jackson Merrill made a sliding catch to rob Frelick of extra bases, prompting the broadcast crew to cut the interview short.
Merrill further impacted the game in the bottom of the inning by hitting a single, stealing second, and scoring on a Manny Machado hit following a Fernando Tatis Jr. RBI groundout. The Brewers later tied the game at 2-2.
