San Diego Padres closer Mason Miller is unavailable for NLDS Game 3 against the Milwaukee Brewers after being placed on the paternity list. The announcement came shortly before first pitch, with San Diego trailing 2-0 in the best-of-five series. The Padres activated reliever Wandy Peralta to take Miller's spot on the active roster.
Paternity list rules mandate a minimum absence of one day, meaning Miller could return for Game 4, though he can remain away for up to three days. Miller posted a 1.67 ERA with 129 strikeouts across 70 regular-season innings, but previously blew a save in Game 2 against Milwaukee.
