Scotland suffered a 2-1 Nations League defeat against Slovenia at Hampden Park, increasing pressure on head coach Sébastien Pocognoli just four games into his tenure. Ryan Christie opened the scoring for Scotland by tapping in from close range following an assist credited to Oli McBurnie. However, Slovenia outplayed the hosts throughout the contest and mounted a second-half comeback to secure victory.
Aljosa Matko scored the equalizer 11 minutes into the second half before setting up Danijel Sturm, who fired in the winning goal. The result leaves Scotland facing a third-placed finish in their Nations League group, prompting boos from the home supporters after full time. Scotland captain Andy Robertson admitted his side was outfought on the night.
