McKenna beat Predators goaltender Juuse Saros at 14:31 of the second period

Toronto Maple Leafs rookie Gavin McKenna recorded his first career NHL goal and assist in a thrilling 5-4 overtime victory against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night. After falling behind 3-0, the Maple Leafs rallied behind McKenna's milestone second-period goal and a dominant performance from captain Auston Matthews, who capped a four-point night by scoring the winning goal with just 14 seconds left in overtime.
Nashville had initially seized control through goals by Steven Stamkos and Nils Hoglander. John Tavares, William Nylander, and Jack Roslovic also scored for Toronto to set up the dramatic extra-period finish, helping the Leafs wrap up their season-opening homestand at 2-2-0 before embarking on a three-game road trip.
