ESPN's Basketball Power Index projects the Minnesota Timberwolves to record approximately 48 wins and hold a 95.5% probability of making the playoffs for the 2026-27 NBA season. The model places Minnesota at 47.8 wins and 34.2 losses, projecting them as either the fourth or fifth seed in the Western Conference and eighth overall across the league.
Minnesota finished with a 49-33 record last season before reaching the Western Conference semifinals. Entering the new campaign, the Timberwolves feature a reshaped roster that includes returning players Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert, and Jaden McDaniels alongside additions LaMelo Ball and Jonathan Kuminga.
