The Raptors aren't boxing Collin Murray-Boyles into strictly a backup center role this season and want him to play as much as possible in year two.

Toronto Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic plans to expand sophomore Collin Murray-Boyles' role rather than limiting him to backup center. Speaking at practice, Rajakovic explained that Murray-Boyles has improved significantly and must share the court with starting center Jakob Poeltl during the 2026-27 NBA season.
Raptors Rapture writer Chris Lambert supports the decision, arguing that pairing Murray-Boyles with Poeltl maximizes defensive versatility while reducing physical wear. Lambert believes giving Murray-Boyles extra minutes at forward will enhance Toronto's frontcourt and accelerate the young player's offensive development.
