Amid concerns Jayden Maiava isn't playing at his usual stellar level, coach Lincoln Riley dismissed the suggestion the quarterback is injured.

USC head coach Lincoln Riley stated that quarterback Jayden Maiava is healthy despite recent struggles with deep passing accuracy and avoiding contact. Concerns arose after Maiava took a heavy hit to his shoulder during a 39-0 victory over Fresno State on Sept. 4, followed by inconsistent play in a rally against Washington. Riley dismissed injury rumors on Tuesday, asserting that Maiava has remained healthy throughout the season.
Maiava has dealt with changes across the receiving corps, including the absence of injured freshman Trent Mosley. Beyond the offense, Riley expressed confidence in defensive coordinator Gary Patterson while acknowledging poor tackling against Washington. The Trojans are preparing for an upcoming road matchup against Penn State in Happy Valley.
