The Story in 60 Seconds

Celtic shirts have been caught up in a BBC Sport investigation revealing poor working conditions and low wages in Cambodian factories utilized by Adidas. An obtained photograph showed Celtic home and away shirts displayed on mannequins alongside Adidas branding in one of the facilities. The report revealed that workers in Cambodia are paid less than £1 per hour while producing around 700 garments daily.

Workers reported earning monthly salaries between $210 and $220, noting that a single official £75 shirt costs more than two weeks of their wages. In response, Adidas stated that net wages across a sample of its Cambodian suppliers were 34% above the Anker Research Institute's living-wage benchmark.
