Newcastle United have replaced the familiar stadium signage outside St James' Park near the Barrack Road entrance. The previous club crest and lettering on the steps leading to the Leazes End were removed and replaced with new lettering alongside an unidentified black symbol, according to reports citing footage from journalist Dominic Scurr.
The update comes shortly after Newcastle unveiled their updated club crest following a supporter vote, which won 64.8% backing from over 27,000 fans. While the crest will officially appear on playing kits starting in the 2027/28 season, the meaning behind the separate symbol on the new stadium entrance signage remains unclear.
