Everton have reportedly begun efforts to rival Newcastle United for the permanent signing of Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara in the January transfer window. Turkish reports state that Everton's management has reached out via agents to inquire about the potential costs involved and is preparing to submit an official offer.
Newcastle previously targeted the 27-year-old Brazilian midfielder during the summer and are also expected to lodge a new bid in January. However, Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk considers Sara indispensable, and with the player under contract until 2029, the Turkish club is unlikely to sanction a cheap departure.
