Wesley Morton previews Jock Landale's role with the Atlanta Hawks ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season following a productive stint last year. Landale joined Atlanta after a trade deadline move from Memphis, delivering an impressive 26-point debut. He went on to average 9.1 points and 4.1 rebounds across 23 appearances before suffering an ankle injury against the Orlando Magic on April 1, which sidelined him for the playoffs.
During the offseason, the center re-signed with the Hawks on a one-year, $14.1 million deal after recovering from his injury. Morton projects Landale will primarily serve as the backup center behind Onyeka Okongwu, offering interior physicality and floor spacing despite defensive limitations.
