Former Celtic defender Alan Stubbs criticized Cameron Carter-Vickers following the defender's remarks after Celtic's defeat against Rangers. Carter-Vickers had described the team's display as "too random" and urged the squad to stick to a script, prompting Stubbs to label the comments as a "cop-out" and an attempt to deflect from player performances.
Speaking via Bovada, Stubbs defended manager Martin O'Neill, arguing that issues should remain behind closed doors rather than being aired publicly. Stubbs assigned 80 percent of the blame for the defeat to the players on the pitch and suggested captain Callum McGregor should also speak with Carter-Vickers regarding his comments.
