The New York Rangers travel to face the Washington Capitals on Friday aiming for their fifth consecutive victory. Following an opening defeat to Boston, the Rangers have outscored their last four opponents 16-5, most recently securing a 5-2 win over the New York Islanders behind an Alexis Lafreniere hat trick and two goals from Oliver Bjorkstrand.
Washington enters the matchup with two wins from its first three games, coming off a 5-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Capitals are led by Alex Ovechkin in his final NHL season, alongside strong early contributions from Tom Wilson and Pierre-Luc Dubois.
