The Montreal Canadiens have conceded 14 goals over their first three games of the season, resulting in a 1-1-1 record. A significant defensive concern highlighted by the author is the team's vulnerability in front of the net, with all 13 goals conceded by goaltender Jakub Dobes originating directly from the slot.
To address the issue, coach Derek Lalonde kept the team's defensemen on the ice after a practice in Brossard to conduct specific drills focused on protecting the slot and improving net-front positioning.
