The Giants (3-1) have survived seven fumbles (only two lost) in four games. Is the drill working?

The New York Giants and head coach John Harbaugh are utilizing 12.5-pound weighted footballs during practice drills to address recent ball-security issues. The heavier equipment is designed to reinforce proper technique among ball carriers, specifically running backs and tight ends, by forcing them to maintain a high-and-tight grip throughout each run.
Harbaugh explained to The Post that a weighted ball immediately drops if swung away from the body, compelling players to stay disciplined. Through four games this season, the 3-1 Giants have recorded seven total fumbles, though they have lost only two of them.
