A young flyer boasting the most enviable try-scoring record is leading the charge, but he’s just one of the lesser known players to watch at the World Cup.
Papua New Guinea winger Dudley Dotoi is set to use the upcoming Rugby League World Cup to prove he belongs in the NRL. Former Kangaroos player and Townsville Blackhawks coach Terry Campese praised the 23-year-old's striking record of 62 tries in 53 Queensland Cup games, expressing strong confidence in his readiness for elite competition.
With Kumuls winger Alex Johnston sidelined by injury, Dotoi is poised to make his mark starting against Lebanon on October 17. Campese also backed fellow PNG squad member Bailey Biondi-Odo, who is joining the New Zealand Warriors for 2027, to secure a successful top-grade resurgence.
