The Boston Celtics earned a victory in their preseason opener against Cleveland despite resting their projected top seven rotation players. Brian Robb of MassLive reports that the Celtics secured the win backed by 71 first-half points and a strong showing on the boards with 21 offensive rebounds.
Guard Devin Carter made a notable impression on an Exhibit 10 contract, tallying 17 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals with a plus-22 rating in 25 minutes. Robb believes Carter's aggressive performance puts him in the driver's seat for Boston's open two-way roster spot.
