Rookie Trevor Connelly scored the decisive goal in the fifth round of the shootout, while goaltender Adin Hill sealed the win by denying John Tavares to earn Vegas its third consecutive home victory.

Toronto initially established a 3-0 lead within the first nine minutes before Mark Stone, Brett Howden, and Jack Eichel scored to tie the contest. Hill made 21 saves through regulation and overtime and stopped four of five shootout attempts, while Toronto goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky finished with 40 saves.
