RICHARD GOUGH had left Rangers long before Olwethu Makhanya was even born. But the Ibrox legend is doing his best to help the new generation experience the same kind of success he did. Goughie, 64, grew up in South Africa…

Rangers defender Olwethu Makhanya has revealed that he draws inspiration from former Ibrox player Bongani Zungu, whom he idolized while growing up in South Africa. The 22-year-old center-back explained that seeing Zungu play in Europe made joining Rangers a childhood dream. Makhanya also shared that former club captain Richard Gough reached out to him over social media with praise and advice following standout performances.
Makhanya joined Rangers from Philadelphia Union for a reported £3 million fee and recently won the club's Player of the Month award for September. His strong form has helped manager Derek McInnes' side secure six consecutive domestic wins, including back-to-back victories over rivals Celtic.
