The Story in 60 Seconds

Renowned defence coach Shaun Edwards has signed with Argentina through next year's 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia. Edwards, who had been working as a consultant with England's women's team, will join head coach Felipe Contepomi and forwards coach Mario Ledesma ahead of Argentina's upcoming Nations Championship fixtures against Ireland, Italy, and France.

Alex Bywater argues that the Rugby Football Union and head coach Steve Borthwick made a grave error by failing to hire Edwards full-time. Despite current England defence coach Joe El Abd announcing his post-World Cup departure, the RFU opted against bringing in Edwards, which Bywater labels as negligence following England's fifth-place finish in the Six Nations.
