Former Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna has spoken publicly for the first time since departing Portman Road, confirming he plans to take time away from management to reflect before choosing his next role. McKenna explained that his young family was the primary reason for stepping down after five-and-a-half years in charge, while confirming he will work as a UEFA technical observer in the short term.
McKenna, who has previously been linked with Celtic, Chelsea, Manchester United, Brighton, and Fulham, remains open to future opportunities where he can build a connection with a club and community. Any club seeking to appoint the 40-year-old manager before next summer will reportedly need to pay Ipswich Town more than £8 million due to an agreement made upon his exit.
