The ECB is set to hand out 30 full contracts and nine development deals next week, with eight new names joining the full list for the first time.
The England and Wales Cricket Board is expected to offer central contracts to a record 39 players next week, consisting of 30 full contracts and nine development deals. The expansion comes after the retirements of Ben Stokes and Mark Wood, which freed up contract budget space under the Team England Player Partnership agreement. Meanwhile, Zak Crawley and Luke Wood are expected to lose their central deals.
Eight new players are set to join the full central contract list, including Henry Crocombe, Emilio Gay, Jordan Cox, and Dan Lawrence. The board also plans to award nine development contracts to emerging talents such as James Coles, Mason Crane, and Liam Patterson-White, allowing the national team greater oversight of player workloads alongside England Lions tours.
