The Friedkin Group are considering the potential sale of Everton Football Club - saying "the time is right" for the next chapter.

The Friedkin Group is exploring new investment options for Everton Football Club, including the potential sale of their controlling stake. The consortium, led by American billionaire Dan Friedkin, completed its takeover of the club in December 2024. In an official statement, the group announced that the time is right to consider the next chapter after establishing financial stability and completing the club's new stadium, noting they will only engage with suitable stewards.
Sky Sports' Alan Myers reported that the decision comes after the owners assessed the substantial costs needed to make Everton consistently competitive. Myers also cited financial commitments to AS Roma's new stadium project and estimated that The Friedkin Group is seeking between £800m and £1bn to sell the Premier League club.
