The Tampa Bay Buccaneers earned their first victory of the season by upsetting the Dallas Cowboys 24-16 at AT&T Stadium on Thursday night. Dallas entered the game as 9.5-point favorites, but head coach Todd Bowles and the Buccaneers dominated the third quarter by outscoring Dallas 17-0. The defeat dropped head coach Brian Schottenheimer and the Cowboys to a 2-3 record on the season.
Tampa Bay capitalized on explosive second-half plays, including a 72-yard run by Bucky Irving and a 64-yard completion from rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels to Tez Johnson. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott struggled for most of the night against Tampa Bay's secondary, throwing two interceptions and completing 24 of 42 passes. Linebacker Alex Anzalone sealed the upset with a late interception on Dallas' final drive.
