The changes Kiss has made have borne fruit, and All Blacks defence coach Tana Umaga was quick to put his finger on exactly where they've come when speaking with media after training on Tuesday.

All Blacks defense coach Tana Umaga stated that New Zealand must adapt defensively to counter the Wallabies under new head coach Les Kiss. Speaking ahead of the Bledisloe Cup clash at Eden Park in Auckland, Umaga highlighted that Australia is playing with greater width and an attacking mindset that presents fresh defensive challenges.
Umaga acknowledged the All Blacks are tweaking their defensive structures following a series defeat to South Africa. With only limited preparation time following their recent arrival, the coaching staff is focused on sharpening specific areas while capitalizing on their own scoring opportunities against Australia.
