More injury news in the NHL: goaltender Igor Shesterkin needed help to leave the ice after an apparent injury, and the New York Rangers will be watching for an update.
New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin suffered an apparent injury after sliding hard into the goal post. Shesterkin was caught outside his crease and collided with the post using his right leg before staying down on the ice. He required assistance from the training staff to exit the rink, putting no weight on the affected leg as he hobbled down the tunnel.
The Rangers have not released an official diagnosis, and the full extent of the netminder's injury remains undetermined pending medical evaluation. His availability for future games is currently unknown as the team awaits further medical updates.
