The Vegas Golden Knights were down three goals before Thursday night’s game was nine minutes old. By the end, they had turned an ugly start into one of their strongest responses of the young season.
The Vegas Golden Knights overcame an early three-goal deficit to defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 in a shootout at T-Mobile Arena. Jack Roslovic, Easton Cowan, and Nick Paul scored early for Toronto, but Vegas answered with goals from Mark Stone, Brett Howden, and Jack Eichel to force extra time.
Adin Hill stopped 21 shots during regulation and overtime before denying four consecutive Toronto shooters in the shootout. Braeden Bowman and rookie Trevor Connelly converted their shootout attempts, sealing the comeback victory for head coach Ryan Craig's side.
