When Todd Monken was interviewing with the Jets for their head coaching job in 2019, the team likened his abilities to a luxury car.

Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken revealed luxury car-themed advice he received from a New York Jets interviewer after missing out on their 2019 head coaching job. Speaking ahead of a matchup against the Jets, Monken shared that someone from the organization told him he was a Mercedes, but the franchise simply decided it wanted a Lexus instead.
The Jets ultimately hired Adam Gase to replace Todd Bowles in 2019, while Monken became Cleveland's offensive coordinator before later returning as head coach. Gase finished his tenure with a 9-23 record before being fired following the 2020 season.
