Wakefield Trinity WILL get the chance to become club rugby league’s top side early next year - with the World Club Challenge set to go ahead.

The World Club Challenge is set to proceed in early 2027 after the Sydney Roosters agreed to travel to England. The NRL champions, coached by Trent Robinson, will face newly crowned Super League winners Wakefield Trinity after both sides captured their respective league titles.
Discussions will now focus on securing an English venue for the fixture. Leeds United's Elland Road and Barnsley's Oakwell have emerged as the primary contenders, with Wakefield owner Matt Ellis favoring Oakwell while RL Commercial prefers Elland Road.
