Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Vita Vea revealed the internal discussions that spurred his team to a 24-16 upset road victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night. Entering the game 0-4 and as 8.5-point underdogs, the Buccaneers held players-only meetings during the week to address finishing games, which Vea described as a turning point that ended their losing streak.
Led by undrafted rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels, Tampa Bay generated 419 total yards, including 241 rushing yards, against Dallas. The Buccaneers' defense simultaneously contained a Cowboys offense that had previously averaged 30.5 points per game, limiting them to just two touchdowns and securing Tampa Bay's first win of the season.
