The Story in 60 Seconds

Arsenal Insider reports that 17-year-old defender Marli Salmon appears to have been promoted to Arsenal's first-team squad under manager Mikel Arteta. The development follows Salmon's omission from the official Arsenal Under-21 squad photo this week, alongside fellow prospect Max Dowman, signaling a permanent elevation to the senior side.

Salmon previously had his official Premier League portrait taken with the first team in August and played 90 minutes in the Carabao Cup against Ipswich. Arsenal Insider suggests the defender could see further senior playing time during an upcoming congested run of nine fixtures across 28 days, including a Carabao Cup tie against Fleetwood Town on October 27.
