Birmingham City need to get talisman and record signing Jay Stansfield firing again

Birmingham City reporter Alex Dicken argues that forward Jay Stansfield's lack of goal-scoring opportunities is a growing concern despite his recent friendly brace. Stansfield scored both goals in a 2-2 behind-closed-doors friendly during the international break, but he has netted just once in 10 competitive appearances this season and three times in his last 40 matches.
Dicken suggests Stansfield's drop in scoring chances could stem from playing in a deeper attacking role under manager Chris Davies. Birmingham City resume their Championship campaign against West Bromwich Albion, where Stansfield is expected to feature.
