McLaren must have had a sense of deja vu after the second collision between its drivers in Singapore in as many years.

Oscar Piastri stated that his collision with McLaren teammate Lando Norris during the Singapore Sprint was "worlds apart" from their previous clash in 2025. Norris attempted an overtake at Turn 5 for fourth place, misjudged the maneuver, and sent Piastri into the barriers. Norris recovered to finish eighth, while Piastri was forced out of the points.
Team principal Andrea Stella labeled the incident "not acceptable" as McLaren battles Red Bull for third in the constructors' championship. Stewards took no disciplinary action, and Piastri confirmed that Norris apologized, emphasizing that both drivers have moved past the incident.
